The goal of our association is to provide quality yet accessible training & training tools to a broad audience. The training we provide engages technology and is not limited by traditional training’s time and space requirements. We are licensed professionals that know our industry and know how to make a difference. Our courses:
- Engage the Senses:
IOHSA training embraces current research on retention studies. Research shows that the more our senses are stimulated, the more we learn. Our approved courses provide effective e-learning tools as a means of delivery of the course material (video, text, audio, reading and touch) that invoke both words and pictures. This type of approach is seven times more likely to be retained than words alone. Successful training experiences engage learners and create positive outcomes. Linking the senses to training through a variety of learning tools is one way to promote retention, foster earning, improve job performance, and make the process interesting for the learner and the trainer.
- Improve Access to Course Refreshers:
Our course certifications are good for two (2) years after completion. However, our approved course curriculum also is intended to be used frequently. Any e-learning outlets that provide our approved curriculum must allow access to the courses for unlimited course refresher & training review. Studies prove that improved frequency in training has a direct impact on improved retention & performance of skills and rescuer confidence. Our courses are 24/7/365 always available for refreshing knowledge and reviewing skills. In addition, when courses reference or require any psychomotor skills practice (such as CPR), course outlets must make refresher skills checklist forms accessible anytime. This enables interactive onsite psychomotor skills checks at any time it may be convenient for the student to practice.
